We are so happy that you are considering joining us at Snow Hill UMC. Hopefully, the information below will help you feel at ease as you join us for the first time.
Worship: Sunday Mornings at 10:50 a.m.
Sunday School: Sunday Mornings at 9:45 for assembly in the Fellowship Hall. A light breakfast is available in the Fellowship Hall prior to the Assembly.
Infants: The Nursery is located on the main floor of the church, behind the Sanctuary. Please see one of the ushers when you arrive at SHUMC and they will be happy to assist you.
Children: Sunday School for K- 6 grade is located on the ground floor of the church, accessible from the stairs inside the main door or from the Fellowship Hall door at the rear of the building.
Youth: Youth Sunday School Class is also located on the ground floor. The youth also meet every other Sunday evening at 6:30 at the Richardson’s. Please contact Wendy Richardson for complete information.
Adult: We currently have 3 different Adult Sunday School Classes: Group 1 meets in the Sanctuary or one of the downstairs classrooms using THE STORY, by Randy Frazee. Group 2 meets in the Fellowship Hall and is currently using The Call – the Life and Message of The Apostle Paul by Adam Hamilton. Group 3 meets in the Choir Room behind the sanctuary. They are currently using the International Bible Study, will begin a study on THE WORD in early 201
Bible Study: Adult Bible Study Classes meet every Wednesday (please check the calendar for specific dates. There is a 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. group meeting in the conference room at the Pioneer Hospital in Danbury (located on Highway 8 & 89 just north of Danbury). The evening group meets from 6:15 to 7:30 in the Fellowship Hall at the church. We do provide a light dinner at 5:45 before the study.
Handicapped Access: The Sanctuary can be accessed by a ramp located on the right of the building. The Fellowship Hall and Sunday School classrooms can be accessed at ground level at the rear of the building. There is a sidewalk to this door on the right of the building.
Child Care: Child Care is available for all services and most church meetings.
Young Peoples Ministries
Rest Rooms: There are two sets of restrooms: 1)Located on the ground floor at the bottom of the stairs inside the main entrance. 2) located behind the chancel area, are accessible through the door at the top of the ramp on the right side of the building.
Parking: The church is surrounded by parking lots, none of the spaces are marked. Handicapped parking is located on both the front and both sides of the building (close to the front of the building).
From Greensboro (Southeast):Take 220N out of Greensboro, exit R at Hwy.704 – Madison Exit, continue through Sandy Ridge, turn left at Oakridge Baptist onto Snow Hill Church Rd., go 4 miles. The church will be on the left.
From Martinsville, VA (North East): Take 220S, exit R at Hwy.770, go west about 5 miles,go R at fork onto Hwy. 704, go 1 1/4 mile, turn left at Oakridge Baptist onto Snow Hill Church Rd., go 4 miles. The church will be on the left.
From Winston–Salem (South West): Highway 52 north to Exit 114, NC 8N, Germontown Road. Turn left at the end of the ramp. Continue through Germanton 9.6 miles. Turn left (just past Shell Station) to continue on NC 8N – 6.6 miles. Turn left to continue on NC 8N (merges with NC 89) continue through Danbury 6.6 miles. Turn right (after crossing bridge) to continue towards Lawsonville 4.5 miles. Turn hard right onto Snow Hill Church Road (just after Biggs Grocery – if you get to Lawsonville Elementary school you’ve gone too far. The church will be approximately 2 miles on the right.
From Stuart, VA (North West): Take VA – 8 South for 9 miles. VA – 8 will turn into NC – 8 at the North Carolina State Line. Continue on NC – 8 South for 4.3 miles. Take a slight left onto Snow Hill Church Road. Snow Hill UMC will be approximately 2 miles on the Right.
